ULTRAFILTRATION MEMBRANES

Ultrafiltration is a baromembrane process, consisting in the fact that the liquid under pressure "is pushed" through a semipermeable partition. The size of the holes (pores) of ultrafiltration membranes lies in the range from 5 nm to 0.05-0.1 μm. The main difference between membrane filtration and conventional volumetric filtration is that the overwhelming majority of all the delayed substances accumulate on the surface of the membrane, forming an additional filtering layer of the sediment, which has its resistance.
